I’m in rust belt area and slider pins rusted up it’s easier just to replace the calliper then clean and hunt for new rubber boots. Once the protective finish or plating is gone from the pins they just rust up and stick again 😢Most callipers are cheap 😊If myself or others are not keeping the vehicle cleaning then up could be cheaper

This style of brake is inexpensive and why most manufacturers use them. Inboard brakes tend to last and not get much debris because of their location but are time consuming to maintain 😮

What causes the LS1 tick?

Interesting being the rear bolt. Had same problem on a 73 Eldorado. I suppose it is hotter when all cylinder exhaust on a side meets

I have a Camaro with LS1 and has a mild ticking noise that’s been there forever but now has rattling when you rev the engine then let off the accelerator. It’s got over 200,000 miles and gets regular synthetic oil changes. What is the rattle?

Better slider pin boots would prevent the corrosion but bean counters have made many parts to minimum standards 😮

I’ve been driving my Camaro 2002 for over 100,000 miles with a tick and have had no issues with the engine. Sound disappears soon after start up.

Too many idiots on FB.

Using the rubber boots that have failed isn’t the best practice 😮
