The whole reason for the buffer is preventing bolt bounce so it can fire in full auto. Otherwise the bolt can be unlocked when the hammer falls and fail to fire
11
the trigger guard just rotates and fits inside the grip, there is no separate plate to cover the grip cavity.

You don’t need great marksmanship with a 50, just winging your enemy is more than enough
3
You should know the difference between black bear scat and grizzly scat. Black bear scat is smaller with berries in it. Grizzly scat is larger, smells of plastic and has HiPoint pistols in it 😅
2
Everyone needs one of these just in case!
2
front sight is the modified version same as the C2. Original sight blocks do not have removable ears.
2
Change selector and the trigger plunger for R&R
2
@briang530 they are great pistols when maintained properly.
2
@inquisitorsquish5422 a jam does not make it a pistol design issue, could be ammo, lots of grit in it or lack of maintenance. They are accurate and can be shot extensively. Do you know why yours jammed or just blame the pistol and not the operator?
2
@briang530 Heavier? Have you owned one? Arn't ideal but NATO countries successfully use these for decades, mmm? Obvious to me you have Never used one. Oh and they hold 14 rds. so not low capacity.
2
@nickverbree a failure of the system when unused HP's are stored in supply with the stickers still on the grip and you get junk. As I recall the sticker has Canada in English, Chinese and Russian. All slides have some movement but I know what you mean. The same pistols always seem to be used for shooting and are not rotated in stock, there was no mandate to do this, no written order. Really they are only a defensive weapon. Just be lucky that you didn't have to use the old Sterling smg's. You could hit the sky with them but that's about it. And you were never tortured with the old Browning gpmgs in 7.62.

Hostages love having grey matter splatter when it’s not their own
2
Picked up a French MAB .22 semi pistol from the 1950’s very nice all milled steel and ergonomic grip. Not many made
2
I’d say the M16 produced by Colt Canada, formerly Diemaco. Several countries have ordered variations and previously it was modified for Canadian use and accuracy
2
could make a polymer one
1
How do your wall mounts work to hold the firearms? Where did you source it? I have a couple Colts and this history is interesting.
1
thanks much appreciated. Would work well with swords too!
1
Chinese still copy without understanding the design elements and engineering.
1
Because you want to be quiet before you pull the trigger and then make a lot of noise? At the movies the sound of a gun action scares the crooks away
1
One expensive mg but there’s no better 😊
1
Used to strip and repair these and many other firearms.
1
Forward assist so when It’s jamming just Jam it harder. Don’t use the darn thing

The 1897 was for ducks 🦆 and many decades ago ducks swarmed coming in 😊so with a few guys firing you would get lots of them, Teddy as President regulated hunting and stopped market hunting. The pump shotgun was a huge advantage over double barrel shotgun
1
@dalemoss4684 regardless hunters could knock more ducks down with a pump than a double barrel. They also held more than 3 rounds and usually tripled the firepower of a double.
1
Huge marketing push for this caliber? Typical make people unsatisfied with what they currently have. Haven’t seen recoil complaint for the 9mm Parabellum until they promote lighter recoiling cartridges. Full size handguns 9mm is easily handled. Compact pistol some may want smaller cartridges.
1
French military rifles? Never fired and dropped once? It’s an old joke 😮
1
Gas tubes always cracked at the radius for the gas cut out where it was pinned. Always set the gas setting on #4
1
Severe failures equals rarity. Had they been sturdier they would be worth less today.
1
Both have coil springs for the hammer. It’s the sear that has the flat spring. Making grips and frame/slide fatter is going backwards in my view, don’t need excess metal for 9mm
1
Once you begin missing with pistol the misses seem to continue. Why is that, happens to me!
1
a good gunsmith in British Columbia, great for double shotguns, Stuart, of S J Newby Gunsmiths Ltd. (Half Moon Bay BC 604-740-3725). He learned to build them from scratch in England.
1
Carl G is well made
1
Possible a two piece bolt to prevent bolt bounce since this fires from a closed bolt and not the usual open bolt

The internet has brought to light many variations of firearms and their markings including regimental. This has increased the value of some firearms since we can now connect them to particular regiments and battles. I find museums have no room to display the majority of items and they do deacession (sell) examples to fund current displays since switching up displays=-more revenue $$. Dedicated museums are for my collecting field much more important. What is available to view in Toronto at the ROM is not worth seeing, it's more a business to generate $. I've heard horror stories of items being lent to museums and then growing legs and disappearing. Curators usually do not know enough about firearms and other weapons and with political correctness many arms are filed out of sight. Best to keep items in private collections where they won't be stamped with ID numbers and won't be welded shut. Yes new deactivation standards weld everything to prevent movement making them a chunk of metal. With modern alarm systems why is anyone frightened by having working fireams in museums? Museums also have displayed incorrect info or lack of. Museums need curators who have good interest in firearms, not just ferrous metals stabalization. Private ownership creates many personal curators and the majority of firearms or of any object are in private hands.

The 5.56 cartridge solved recoil and weight issues. MG’s can use the larger calibre
1
These rifles used to sell for under $100 at auction. Price has risen
1
Looks like a well made piece. Firing it would not feel the same without the heavy bolt moving forward to fire.
1
I ran 8 full 30 rd mags from a C7 and it was cooking hot. To hold it I had to put my beret under the fore stock 😊
1
Great stuff! Years ago I watched Leopard tanks firing their 105mm. With the 105mm howitzer you can see the projectile in flight. Nothing like being close to a large gun firing.
1
Non US guns would run 750-850 rpm😊
1
I remember no one was interested in something viewed as to fail at that critical moment. Electric firing for tanks works well but not hand held firearms.
1
Knowing theory of operation should bring you to the problem. In some cases it is an ammunition issue. Interesting it was a machining issue.
1
Deaccession will have museums selling off items to fund their focus. Other collectors will keep care of your stuff and give you $ for it. Few firearms are rare
1
Looks like the 50 spotter on the 106mm recoiless. They didn’t have a muzzle brake. Phosphorus rounds to see where they hit, tink tink on armor then fire the main gun and bugger off because the enemy has seen your location with the huge back blast from the recoiless rifle
1
Specifically made to kill Nazis. Some of these Chinese contract pistols wound up in Canadian service.
1
5.5 pound weight savings is great. Need that to make it portable for extended periods of time. Five pounds feels like fifteen after a short time. Besides then you can carry more ammo which is heavy
1
Have an Hungarian one with matching everything including mags and holster. Hungarian crest on grips 😊 Any idea of value? I got it years ago
1
I like the 1951 Beretta
1
shoots 1/4 pounders
1
Years ago they laughed at shoulder fired 50 saying impossible. I want one!!!
