  1. I was born and raised in San Francisco and moved 30 miles south in 2002. The place is absolutely horrible. I used to go to the Symphony across from City Hall and I would park in the projects just west of Davis Hall and did not feel unsafe at all. Since 2015 nowhere is safe. I was threatened by a crazy woman with 2 scary looking Doberman’s in a parking lot on Market Street because my 7 lb Haveneese barked at her dogs. I opened the back of my SUV, put my dog in the back and pulled out a 2 ft long, 2 inch thick iron bar and told her to go for it and I would waste her dogs and she walked on. Growing up in San Francisco you learn that you need to match crazy with more crazy to survive. That was in 2015, j will not go back and Oakland is far worse, it is worse than you can imagine, you are far safer in Nairobi.
