A lot of ideas like industrial education and teaching to the test are widespread within education, but honestly they aren't very useful to reform, they are standards and it is very very clear within education that the teachers and academics want an end to them because they want to get rid of standards and expectations. They talk about teacher professionalism for example, but want it means is basically total autonomy and a demand for prestige without any standards being applied. Also the pedagogy of the oppressed is one of the key textbooks for teacher training. Honestly I think what we have now is not salvageable, we'll have to start again from the bottom. And at least until that point I will stress that home education is the only way to protect your children, things within education are a great deal worse than people think.

  3. My experience is that college is worse honestly. Most of the bright students go into trades or give up and you end up with rooms full of mental retarded women.
