  1. They look similar, but there is almost no evidence of that, just as Caucasian daggers likely aren't descendents of the Roman Gladius even if they look a bit similar when you squint enough.

  2. Personally I like Haggis, and I'm an Englishman and one of primarily Germanic rather than Celtic descent at that. Deep fried mars bars are however the pits, as well as those greasy chocolate banana monstrosities. Oats are definitely an acceptable staple if you lack substitutes and they also have proper food like Beef, Venison and fish and chips.
