  1. We have a million people coming in a year idiot. Also we wouldn't have inheritance tax if the upper class were still the nobility, we now have a managerial elite of corporate and government bureaucrats.

  2. It is off the coast and was a global empire, meaning it both developed very differently and has cultural influence from places other that Europe, also we have diplomatically never had many friends on the continent (Portugal is the major exception and even that hasn't been unbroken at all).

  3. Look dude it's basically Islamabad with nicer buildings and a delusional ruling elite in small portion of the city. Even then a good of the heritage has been or is getting knocked down. The place is a shithole, and I say that as someone born there.

  4. Money and the fact they are the dregs of their society. Eastern Europe is developing fast, but everyone knows England is the place for free money and committing crime, the productive people have either moved back or integrated. Also the rightward shift in eastern Europe was in part because that were horrified by what they saw in the West, remember these guys have a long history with entrenched elites, government state planning and Muslim invaders.
