  2. We should protect our own, that is our responsibility under God, but if it is outsiders attacking outsiders that is their business and we should leave them to it. At most we should offer aid to those who have done the same to us, if Sikhs are under threat we should offer what support we can, but it the Hindus and Muslims are fighting our concerns should be strategic not personal.

  3. Pretty clearly you don't know who Hitchens is. He was very much a revolutionary Trotskyist in his youth, and slept with men. But unlike most of those people his charge of heart was genuine and instead of becoming a neo-con he started systematically deconstructing the social changes of his youth. His flaws are that he is very naive about human nature and that he worships institutions. But he wrote an entire book about the decriminalization of weed and many other important topics, the issue is that he tends to pull everything back into books he already wrote and research he already did, and he never listens to anyone outside of his own head. Of course this is how he has been so unwavering, but it also makes him very painful to talk to.

  5. Many of the people who buy into the legalisation advertising campaigns are young, and haven't spoken enough for once to their boomer elders. The number of family and friends who died of drugs will be very high for them, and so will be the number who developed the negative side effects such as mental disorders. Because we are young we are seeing people at their healthiest, it's downhill from here, and not one you can come back up. And yeah, the pharmaceutical and tobacco put a lot of money into campaigning for legalisation, the tobacco industry sees a potential shift to a new market and the pharmaceutical industry is already in the market, and yes both the legal and illegal sides of it, the opioid crisis in America is one of their making, and it was deliberate.

  15. Interestingly they were funded in their work by the CIA. The Soviets on the other hand hated them. The mistake of right wingers at the time was thinking that them being pushed was to do with the Soviets and thus ending up chasing shadows, though of course the Soviets had their own large network they were for the most part much less influential due to having outside rather than state and media backing.

Gambling, porn, hookup sites, prostitution and many other things besides should just be banned, they are a bad thing innately, people should have the option of casually diminishing their life and the life of others, at its core authority is patriarchal, it should keep its charges moral and happy wherever or not they have to be forced, a fathers love is not tolerance, nor will our father in heaven forgive us if we let our flock stray. They seem to think he was playing western preconceptions to hide his Iranian sympathies, and these types do typically rather more openly in Arabic and among themselves, it is entirely likely that he presented convenient and sympathetic loyalties to western media/state forces and was rather more plain with his fellow Arabs, who I imagine he would have had plenty to argue about with given who he was.

He was likely a lone actor as Iran explicitly forbids mass causality events in the west despite many other these types of attacks having been pioneered by forces connected to them, this is why it's usually the Sunnis over here despite all the stuff Shia do in the middle east itself.
