@samsonsoturian6013 They either ended up back in Japan or dead (some remained in Russia but had like a 70% mortality rate). Is your reading comprehension poor; what I said could very easily be extrapolated to find the answer.

@samsonsoturian6013 Op asked what happened to the Japanese who were in Manchuria and Korea. I gave a short explanation. Go back to skibidi toilet edits or whatever.

Lots and lots of War crimes against the large colonial settler populations in the North and a big refuge crisis as they fled before the red army. In South Korea the Americans were reluctant to let them go as the Japanese were effective and compliant administrators and they knew what a pain it would be to build up those skills among the native population. They were however repatriated and the Americans would mostly replace them with former collaborators and proceed to complain about their Imperial Japanese outlook on militarism, democracy and war crimes.
