The start of the feudal period had a great deal of influence from the Romans, many of the structures were borrowed or reused. The Romans were inspired by the Persians to field similar cavalry whether heavy or horse archers and certain elements of how they fielded heavy cavalry remained past the fall of the west or was picked up off them by barbarians even before that. That said who knows exactly how much that would pass on to knights who in good part were proven as a force by the Normans going round beating bigger forces all across the know world of the time while operating as knights, given their ancestry who knows how much was inspired and how much they came up with themselves. If you are getting into indo-aryan stuff then well done, the romans, Persians and germanics were all descended from them, basically everyone was, the fact that they liked horses a lot says less than the introduction of a similar style of cavalry warfare to a region that would take it up wholesale centuries rather than millennia later. The Chinese, Japanese, Manchu and Mongols all liked horses as well, it's a pretty broad context as liking cavalry doesn't equal medieval knights.
