The concept was probably a bit too familiar for their liking.

The Romans were still moderates on this issue, they still conducted mass infanticide. If we are going to salt carthage follow it on with rome and then with ourselves. Baal has been fed whether or not the sacrifices were done in his name, an likewise the perpetrators all expected something of their own in turn. It is quite something how cheap today the price is, convenience often as not.

Their magic book of prophesy told them to. Usually it was their theological limit, the exception proved the rule. However both groups had mass infanticide, the Romans just didn't ritualise it.

"I was just trolling bro!" " I'm not actually stupid bro! " If you said more than was sensible then just admit it. Owning up is a lot more respectable, especially in spaces that strive for the truth rather than clout or self-affirmation. We all overcommit to ideas or say things without thinking them through, our character is it in how we respond to such mistakes.

Notably the Chinese traditionally practiced ancestor worship, as did the indo-aryans.

I guess carthaginians technically are Semitic.

@RegioVlogsMty not usually what people are referring to however. Arabs are also Semitic, but that doesn't mean it's a word that protects them, they have one of their own (islamophobic).

Pretty sure the set academic flow in these topics is questioning sources, accusing them of bias, saying the claims are exaggerated, saying it was indeed made-up, followed hotly by the discovery of archaeological evidence vindicating the original accounts.

In a sense entirely. Though for now it is usually not a ritualised religious practice. But much more like the mass infanticide that defined many pagan cultures until the advent of Christian moral scruples, and power.

No he is probably not a liberal and thus doesn't accept your presuppositions in the first place. Like non-Christians don't like being called sinners. You guys used to call yourselves woke, stop being disingenuous.
