Russia was willing to accept its place as a regional hegemon (most likely in the short term while they internally strengthened themselves), however it became clear that the west would chip away at the outlying regions and attempt regime change within Russia itself irrespective of them moving away from the Soviet model, thus the existential existence of Russia is perceived to be under considerable threat, concessions are not a good idea against a foe which has proven to have little honour or diplomatic constancy beyond hostility itself. It is ironic that Putin himself would confront this as he was very much a westerniser, many other Russian internal factions would have urged such a policy of pre-emptive aggression and imperial revanchism even without western actions closing down other avenues. Given the nature of American Imperialism however such circumstances were reasonably predictable, America seeks an international liberal world order and the enrichment of its own ruling class by exploiting the economic resources of subjugated powers (including the American people), it is a managerial oligarchy but it's ideology is a radical form of social-democracy. Trump is going to greatly upset the apple cart due to his non-comformity with the shared intentions and understanding of the managerial elite class which runs America's global empire.

  2. A majority of German casualties after 1942 were not caused in the West, that is outright disinformation. If you want to fight this war go and volunteer, don't make false claims under educational videos.
