"There are some strange people" "some sikh people", I guess us British have the most firmly established relationship with the Sikhs, they are moral and decent to a fault, not only are they no danger to women they are much more likely than common people to intervene to protect them (which is part of their religious honour code). One of the reasons Sikhs started being trusted is that back during the Indian Mutiny the rebels committed horrific crimes against the white civilian population, many Sikh soldiers opted to die alongside the civilians (when most other native troops decided discretion was the better part of valour, or else were the threat itself) in order to protect British women and children regardless of hopeless circumstances, fighting to the bitter end to defend them from violence and outrage, as such the British people have always had a great deal of fondness for the Sikhs and when other immigrant groups are at best merely not causing trouble (or in the case of the colonies are just British with an accent) the Nepalese and Sikhs have earned a reputation as being the best alongside even our own best people. Of course the Nepalese we have are mostly military veterans who swore an oath to the monarch and most of our Sikhs are the proud descendents of Sikhs who proved themselves in Imperial service, so they might be the better sorts, but that is still from among people's we learned to trust unconditionally during our rule over India.
