Unfortunately while the positive stereotypes are hilariously wrong the negative stereotypes are pretty spot on in my experience, cheating probably isn't a bigger problem than in Japan but commitment certainly is, and the dating market is toxic and not serious. Personally I feel that extremely conservative westerners and traditional Christians would probably find Japan a breath of fresh air but most others have already been got by the sexual revolution and social atomization and will find it to be a massive culture shock, not helped by the fact that they probably believe their way is the right way. That is not to say that Japan is socially right wing, just that they continue to value things (like family, consideration for the group and Christian compatible (some of them are certainly Confucian in origin but others likely cultural influence that made it's way in during the meiji period and became seen as tradition) ideas of moral decency) that only strong conservatives continue to appreciate as valuable in the west. Given house prices I'm surprised that there aren't already many more culturally out of touch westerners who feel more at home in a society which marginally better fits what they are comfortable with.
