  1. Women drinking more in old age might be related to the declining happiness and life satisfaction of women in western countries. Certainly I have noticed that it is very normalised for women to drink a bottle of wine by themselves in the evening, meanwhile male pub culture has seen a decades long decline having been a very pervasive social activity right back into the middle ages, the young idiot demographic has almost entirely moved over to drugs though some also mix it with alcohol and then presumably go driving near a school zone.
