  1. It's to do with social competition among females, not objective reality, for many women objective reality is socially contingent. It is a prestige marker and way of identifying status.

  2. The lesson is to not allow women to decide beauty standards as they'd wear dead rats on their head if it became a symbol of prestige. Same with a lot of this stuff, intra-sex competition is fierce and among women it can turn very nasty as the more social nature of it can allow it to escalate to considerable heights and go in ridiculous directions.

In my experience they look better without make-up because you look better without make-up, women who go without are usually religious, married or zoomer (and basically can't be asked, or afford it). All those people are displaying a healthy mindset by not engaging in the dominant culture. So far I see no sign of high status women using going without as a prestige marker, they will however show their skills by making it subtle and then lying that they don't have any on, though part of that will be a shit-test to see which of their hangers on go along with it and which are potential rivals. The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.
