  1. It's because Japanese people are comparing standards of living to Japan 40 years ago and foreigners are comparing Japan to everywhere else. Literally all these problem exist and are much much worse in western countries, and unlike them Japan isn't also unsafe and their government isn't actively malicious. Nor is it being destroyed by importing people into a nation with a 1000 years of history and displacing whole regional cultures at a time with the ancient and intractable foes of those very people. Japan is incredibly rosy to a foreigner. You can buy a house, you are relatively safe, the institutions are functioning. Things like the economy looking good or a set track to professional success are not something they were ever expecting, indeed young westerners mostly don't expect pensions as they don't see the modern state winning it's battle with financial irresponsibility.

  2. Too where, sorry to say but most westerners would move to Japan in a heartbeat. These problems are all much worse in the west and we have many more on top of them.

  3. Yeah, come over to europe, we have that, plus unaffordable housing, plus an invasion of the continent, plus a massive crimewave by the invaders. Also our politicians are actively trying to destroy us.
