Pretty much, and even that can only make things easier, there is no magic cure all for her conditions. I'm surprised by the number of people with options at odds with what is shown who think that someone who can't manage basic paperwork or a job can manage to ride off into the sunset happy and sitting on a pot of gold, she does not just exist in the video, she will have to manage her issues her entire life and the issues themselves leave her hardly in a state to do so.

Okay, I'm now pretty certain that all the other comments were just trolling.

I'm pretty such he's said before that he's not Christian, he may have some morals in common but that is hardly out of the ordinary in Japan due to historical western influence.

Yeah, not going to help, the issue isn't that she can't read, it's that she can't retain information, like someone with reasonably advanced Alzheimer's.

She would be doomed no matter what society she was in, she has multiple layers of serious problems, the thing that would have helped is if the childhood abuse didn't happen but I would be surprised if her parents also had problems as a good few of these things are partly genetic as well as the old cycle of abuse. Attempting to facilitate a small minority of society is likely to come at the cost of the society as a whole, one of the reasons that east Asian society is so ordered and harmonious is that they were historically incredibly harsh, with outliers not procreating or straight up being murdered over some perceived slight (not uncommon during the edo) or historically circumstance (known in China at least as Mongols).

Weird Japanese number system of counting in 10,000's is probably playing a part.

Not dyslexia, seems like she can't retain what she reads rather than having difficulty reading it, unfortunately that is rather more severe.
