  1. I Victorian times tea would be a lot more usual, though in both people drank plenty of water that they didn't know that it was the water that was unclean, they thought it was smells until John Snow in the mid Victorian period found the source of cholera.

  2. My experience in America was that kettles were disgusting, they are great here so I don't know what abomination was inflicted on the recipe, kettles still have the problem however of being made with sunflower oil and not animal fats.
