In terms of trains much of the infrastructure isn't there and every time they try and build it they prove why so much of our infrastructure is so old, e.g. most of our internal institutions are lead by staggeringly incompetent people, indeed if they weren't they wouldn't come up with ridiculous policies like this. Also no one wants to travel on public transport with lowering public order and criminal punishments and increasing social alienation and crime. If we had a competent elite building rail networks would be the first thing they'd do anyway as they can move a lot more valuable things than people and thus lower things that matter like resource and food costs. But we aren't dealing with those circumstances, we are in a decline.

  2. No, that's not going to happen. The Russian population would have to be forced at gunpoint, they actively hate the western elite and their plans, warming climate is good for Russia as is any lessening of power among their neighbours. The only place that could make them is China and it has a similar mindset and interests. They have zero incentive to play ball, they only reason to do so would be leverage.
