Quirkus Sperro actually in nature trees become thousands of years old too they just get cut down by humanity fir profit before they can. There are enough forests where trees grow naturally and do just fine without any 'help' from mankind. It differs form the species how long they live but forcing trees in quite drastic ways and keeping them small and sure maybe free of diseases still isn't right. Not natural in the first place and secondly you are preventing the trees from creating sufficient offspring. Trees are tough and can resist plages, fires, etc. sure some die but that means the fittest and strongest species survive who then reproduce.

Look nature! Let's destroy it and build a hotel on that island and destroy its ecosystem with tourists littering and destroying whatever nature is left.

So they just plant trees to cut them down for profit? How about planting them and leaving them alone? We have destroyed the planet enough as it is plant them to save the planet not to cut them down.
