Muslim countries operate in a different manner than Democratic countries. Most have very strict security, and have very strict penal systems. I don't want to get too graphic on this post, but you can certainly reference it on the internet if you want to know what it is.
People are not free to demonstrate especially anything critical of the government. It's okay to demonstrate about other countries.
As far as freedom of religion is concerned, that may not be necessarily completely true. And I think you and I know what we're talking about.
Being gay is against the law, and is severely punished. That doesn't mean that they're not gay people in Malaysia. They're certainly are, but do they have a gay parade? The answer is probably no.
So when you run a country which is not free, and people are being subjugated, then you will have low crime, high productivity, and the country will be safe. People know what happens to you if you step on a line, even just a little bit.
If the US acted like that, 90% of the jails would be empty, crime would be down 90% or higher, and welfare would be almost non-existent.
So the comparison between the two models of government are totally different.
Well known Israeli Arab muslim blogger Naz daily wanted to visit Malaysia but couldn't because he only had an Israeli passport. So he had to go buy a Caribbean passport for $150,000 to visit the country. He made a whole video about it.
