  1. You know I've heard you mention this several times about the Canadian government closing bank accounts. I'm Canadian, and what you're saying is true, but highly exaggerated. There were truckers as you mentioned that had staged an illegal sit in blocking the entire city of Ottawa. Their stated goal was that they would not leave until they got their way, in other words, blackmailing the government. The government gave them ample time almost 2 weeks to disband their protest. People were bringing Jerry cans of diesel fuel and food to these truckers so they could stay in their trucks in protest. Bear in mind it was in the dead of winter. So the government after declaring it illegal told people that if they donated money to this group or assisted them in any way, they would be breaking the law. I think they closed one or two accounts. That's not many out of 40 million people, and I think the account closure was temporary. It's no different than if you donated money to a terrorist organization. You could find your bank account in need of repair! What the young Trudeau did was a far cry from what his father did invoking the war measures act. so I think we have to look at this in some perspective. As far as Canada is concerned, I left about 13 years ago for two reasons. The weather was awful. It goes from cold to really cold, to downright freezing! I hated it! The next problem is the healthcare. The quality is excellent and world class, but try getting an appointment to see a specialist? You can easily wait 6 months. And if you need an operation that's not life-threatening, buckle down for up to 4 years especially for orthopedics. Why pay 54% tax, and line up with people that are collecting welfare for the same service! It certainly doesn't seem fair. So I guess as the famous economist once said, you only have three choices, exit voice and loyalty! Leave, try to change things, which hardly ever works, or just shut up and take it. I opted for option one. Canada was a great place to live growing up, and it was an excellent place to earn money. But things have gotten much worse in the last 8 years especially under the current socialist government.
