Argentina has had a lot of problems in the past as you probably know. I think they defaulted twice on their debt. The only difference between Argentina and Ecuador, was that when Argentina defaulted they really didn't have the money to pay. Ecuador defaulted with their Central Bank flush with cash. They wrote some ridiculous document saying that the debt was illegal. Argentina is a large country and the they do a lot of business with beef and probably other things as well. They probably have a lot of natural resources also. They're just plagued with corruption, which is a very common story across all of South America with the only exception maybe of chile. Dollarizing is probably a good idea, because most of their external debt is denominated in USD, and when their currency goes down, it becomes more and more difficult for them to pay the coupons. If they can get their act together, and cut out to a large extent systemic corruption, they have a good chance of being a fantastic country. Old habits don't die. When everybody from the president all the way down to the cop that stops you for a ticket is on the take, how do you eradicate the corruption?

@gracelynne3918 I've never been stopped by a police officer and ask for a bribe! There is corruption everywhere. The question is the degree of corruption. I rely on the corruption perception index. Do you know something different?

@kennethkilpatrick3758 Very well said. When a country is corrupt, there is really no solution until the people are just starved to death. The well-meaning world tries to help everybody, but some people are as you clearly pointed out beyond help. It's not only Argentina there are other emerging markets that are also in turmoil, not to mention frontier markets which are in some cases hopeless. I can't understand why anyone would want any residents and or passport from this country. Our good friend Andrew Henderson has a tough job to come up with new material everyday to do a video. It's an incredibly difficult job, and, I think obviously someone has to come up with these strategies and the research all this material and put together all these videos. They are interesting to watch, and can be a source of interesting information.
