  3. I'm not sure if you understand how these companies operate, and why normal people can't do this. When I see normal people I mean people that work in one country and have brick and mortar stores with employees etc. So these international companies our parking their intellectual property in Ireland and other low tax jurisdictions, and then the subsidiaries pay fees to these low tax jurisdictions to use or license the software. People used to do many other things in the past such as transfer pricing, but that has all been outlawed. The other thing is that these people don't take salaries or if they do they take small ones. Their salary is usually in the form of share bonuses which they just keep and let grow. And as long as their shares keep growing, they are billionaires on paper. You and I can't do that unfortunately even though I'd like to. There are other industry specific businesses such as for example cruise ships which register in the Bahamas, then if you want to sue the cruise ship, you have to start your claim there. But even better for them, they are subject to the employment laws of where the ship is registered which could be $5 an hour. And bonuses severance pay and unions, well you can whistle Dixie on that. But anyone who's going to normal business can't do any of these things. And going offshore is not going to help you unless you want to move your hardware store to Malaysia! No it's not going to work, Home Depot isn't moving there. And there's a lot of people in the US that pay a lot of taxes, but there are a lot of tax breaks that you can get especially for reinvestment. You can also borrow money and right off the interest, buy real estate, etc. But then what do you do when the s*** hits the fan, like now when interest rates are going through the roof and you have to renew your mortgages? Your monthly costs will triple and your rents won't. In fact many landlords especially with older commercial office space are sitting with huge empty buildings, thinking about turning them into lofts. It's kind of like everything in this world, if you position yourself in the right direction, you'll do well, but there's two sides to every trade.
