Tucker has never needed money. Both of his moms came from ultra elite wealthy families. His father was already well-off when he was born and he has never really needed to work in his life. He chooses his profession because that’s what he loves to do. His family history is beyond intriguing if you actually research it. The “Russian” grocery store he’s at is actually built by Western Europeans. They have good food if you have money. I lived there from 2008-2009. The black rye bread is very good, as are pelmeni, stuffed peppers, and borscht. Russia itself is extremely poor and Moscow is a place time forgot. Going to a modern grocery store won’t give you an accurate representation of Moscow.

@peterwilliams2152 Are you suggesting they have undertaken massive infrastructure overhauls in the city? Things don’t move much at those latitudes and temperatures. Most of the apartment complexes were built in the 1950s, not meant to last more than 5-7 years because they lost most of the construction engineers with the Bolshevik purges, and Russian relied on a lot of foreign engineers to help them with major infrastructure programs anyway. I’ve been studying the place since the 1970s, monitoring GDP, military programs, trade, and foreign relations since I’m part Finn. The 2010s were more of the peak years for Russia since the sanctions started in 2014. They need oil to be at over $100 per barrel for economic growth. The shale and NG revolution in the US really has limited what they can do economically.

@peterwilliams2152 From what I'm seeing and reports from Russians living there, the availability of goods you used to see has dropped noticeably.
