The only period of time where there was peace in Europe for 50 years was the Cold War, where the security decisions were made in Washington DC. Between the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871, and the Great War of 1914-1918, there were 31 different wars/conflicts in Europe. Russia is one of, if not the biggest offender in starting conflict with all of her neighbors, and is universally hated and despised by every nation that she shares a border with.

@ww-eg2gn You know Trump is the only US President who authorized US forces to wipe out Russian forces in Syria near the Euphrates River at the Battle of Khasham in 2018? 6 hours of JDAMs and Copperheads dropped on Russian mercenaries and Spetsnaz who formed 2 Battalions into an armored battle group with artillery to attack a few dozen Americans. Trump also lowered US energy prices, which then made NG and oil from Russia much cheaper and hurt Russia’s economy for years until COVID spiked prices. Then Biden killed the Keystone pipeline and helped oil get back up over $100/BBL for Russia to grow its military again. You have it all backwards.

@panzerblitz2140 The people you have voted for got us into all kinds of wars, whereas Trump is the only President who avoided getting the US into war. Your voting doesn’t match your goals.

We have no zones of interaction geographically or economically (extremely limited), so there is pretty much zero connection between the US and Russia. No obvious motive for either side to try to understand the other side.

@vladimirackermann6182 Your government is fully-intertwined with the financial system around the world, mainly shadow banking, but not for the benefit of Russians. Oligarchs and dictators enrich themselves while Russians live in poverty. Study the Panama Papers if you want to see Putin’s network of money-laundering.

@SovereignShooter Russia can’t even control the near-range sea lanes to its few sea ports. It’s entirely reliant on historical and new rivals to its ability to freely sail anywhere: Primorsk is totally at the mercy of the Baltics, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Dutch, and Brits. Novorossiysk is totally at the mercy of the Black Sea nations and Turkey just to get out of the Black Sea into the Mediterranean. Vladivostok is at the mercy of Japan. Murmansk and Arkhangelsk are at the mercy of icebergs and grandfather frost in the Arctic, then Norway and UK if any ships want to navigate around the Scandinavian peninsula down into European waters. These are not the attributes of a super power, but a middle power at best who thinks they are a super power out of inflated pride.

Not sure if you’re serious. The US spends more on social welfare medical programs than the entire defense budget, not including social security. It’s around $800 billion per year, far more than defense by about $100 billion. UK spent 192.4 billion pounds on benefits for the 2019-2020 cycle, while only spending 42.2 billion GBP on defence in that same cycle. Defence spending in the UK has been sidelined as a priority for decades by really terrible decision-making by parliament.

The US taxes and spends trillions on assistance for poor people. Hav you ever looked at Medicare’s, Medicaid’s, and Social Security’s budgets? They make European socialists blush with envy.

100% BS. Putin already had plans to invade and occupy all the former Tsarist and Soviet satellite territories in the early 2000s, when I first heard about it from one of his foreign ministry secretaries.

@yugarten8523 I lived in Russia all over. You’d be brainwashed and mentally childish to think Russia is powerful and strong, with any kind of future ahead. People with no hope is all you see in Russia. One of the poorest counties I’ve ever lived in, and I’ve been to 30 across Europe, Middle East, Central America, and Asia since the 1970s.
