Yup. It's very cold, isolated, socially awkward, and unforgiving. There is no sense of hope in Russians, which is sad to witness.

@BilboBaggins And Rich Russians prefer to spend their time outside of Russia every chance they get. Putin and his oligarchs parked billions in offshore banks in Cyprus, Switzerland, Panama, Caymans, Monaco, and Singapore. There aren’t many places to park a yacht on Russia’s few sea ports either, since it’s so landlocked and cold.

The most overlooked reasons: Russia is cold, isolated, with limited access to the global trade routes and high corruption. 95% of Russian exports go out from Novorossisvk in the Black Sea, at the mercy of Turkey.

@zhazhozha I lived in Russia, have lived all over Europe, Asia, and the US. I have been studying Russian history since the 1970s, since half of my family is from Finland. The Russian psyche depends on a strong, abusive father figure and has done so for over 1000 years. Russian babushkas living abroad in Europe, Australia, Canada, and the US can watch RussiaOne “news channel” just the same.

@zhazhozha We were supposed to shoot a sniper competition in Krasnodar back in the early 20teens. We decided against it because we figured our gear and weapons would be stolen by the local police or militsia.

@maestro6458 Russia got billions from the US with Nunn-Lugar in the 1990s to prop up the economic system. Where the money went, only a few men know. The Eastern European nations have the benefit of being nearer to the trade routes and rivers of Central Europe, which are connected to the various deep and warm water sea ports. Russia doesn't have any of those.

@Bhob138 US isn't a military state. It's the most prosperous economy in the world that can afford to provide security in 2 different continents, so free trade could flourish after WWII. US people are tired of supporting that, so we've been in withdrawal since 1991, reducing US military presence in Europe and the Pacific for over 30 years now. If you travel around the US, you will not see any hint of a military presence unless you go looking for it. In many other countries, you see much more of their military focused internally on security like police, which is strange for Americans to see. That was the norm throughout European and much of Asian history.

@JustARandomFio Putin made all the preparations, most important of which was to have Biden remove Zelensky by flight in the beginning. Zelensky didn't play along though. Biden has been on Russian payroll since 1972 when his campaign was paid for. He was a nobody loser pedophile...then magically a Senator.

One thing I saw in Russia was a sense of hopelessness among the adults. They make sure to dress down the rising generation so they won't have false expectations.

Russians have a deep fear in them when weak men occupy the seat of power. This rarely happens in Russian history, but when it does, it causes total chaos for Russia. It happened after Fyodor I from 1598-1613, under Lenin and the Bolsheviks from 1917-1924, then under Gorbachev and Yeltsin from 1985-2000. It's not good for Russians to have a weak leader when they have 20 nations surrounding them with territorial disputes and 1100 years of warfare history among those peoples. As long as Russia has a strong Czar, they feel safe.

@Robespierre-II When I visited the Red Army Central Museum in Moscow several times, they have maps of WWII with Finland invading poor Russia. This is just one of the fake histories Russians believe, including Putin. There was a revival of Stalinism when I was there in the schools and universities, which is insane.

@ekesandras1481 Since Russia is a huge exporter of oil, NG, wheat, fertilizer, and minerals, they can't allow themselves to be subject to tiny little nations (as they see them) for their trade. This is why they seek expansion to possess sea ports in Europe.

Clintons had been receiving millions from Soviets in exchange for State secrets, like the NSA's bank surveillance system. They were paying him via safe deposit boxes in Switzerland for years.

The biggest act of treason was letting Putin bribe access to US and Canadian uranium mines to build new nukes, after Putin learned that the Soviet-era nuke programs were a joke and a shell game. SECSTATE Clinton was lead on that, after Putin funneled hundreds of millions into Clinton Global Initiative. That was the Uranium One deal. Up until 2014, Putin was robbing Ukraine left and right though his puppet Boyars, including President Yanukovych. 79% of Ukraine wanted to trade with the EU, but Yanukovych signed onto Putin’s Russia-Eurasia Economic Union instead, which triggered the Euromaiden protests in late 2013 until Yanukovych was ousted in March of 2014. Hunter Biden then received $3.5 million from former Moscow First Lady Elena Baturina (wired to his firm with John Kerry’s nephew), then was placed on the board of Burisma in Ukraine. Obama flew to the UK in Sep 2014 and told David Cameron to shut off the investigation into Burisma and Zlochevsky, then VP Biden flew to Ukraine in March 2016 to tell Poroshnko to fire Viktor Shokin, who was investigating Burisma. Putin used the Bidens, Clintons, and Obama as insurance policies to try to hold onto Ukraine until he could get another puppet in. Biden was supposed to pull Zelensky out, which would open Kiev for occupation in the leadership vacuum. Zelensky choosing to stay and fight changed the course of history. Europe rallied behind him and used Ukraine as a distraction from mass social unrest over lock-down, masking, and mRNA injection protests. Ukraine was their new focus to relieve the pressure, and a genuine existential threat to Eastern Europe that required full attention.

@johnwayne8494 The Ukrainian people naturally took to the streets after Putin’s puppet, Yanukovych, signed Putin’s Russia-Eurasia Economic Pact in Dec 2013, exactly opposite of what they wanted, which was to normalize trade relations with the Eurozone. They have looked at Poland all these decades and watched their economy grow 6-fold, while Putin has been robbing them through money-laundering, embezzlement, and cronyism using Russian separatists packed into the government under Yanukovych, Zlochevsky, and the like. CIA is jam-packed with Russian moles and always has been since it was founded, so that dog doesn’t hunt.

@Simonasem-v8n The people started protesting en masse in the streets in December 2013 because Yanukovych went against the will of 79% of the people by signing Putin’s Russia-Eurasia Economic Pact in December. This launched the Euromaiden protests for 4 months until he fled back to Putin with his Spetsnaz security detail, leaving Russian separatist Mykola Zlochevsky still running the Burisma money-laundering front. Zlochevsky fled later to Monaco.

Yanukovych was a Putin puppet all along, trying to hide under promises of being independent. When he violated the will of the Ukrainian people, they protested for 4 months in the streets until he fled. It’s also why Putin had Elena Baturina wire $3.5m to a certain Vice President’s son’s shell company at the time.

His stepson, Chris Heinz, was partners with Hunter Biden in Rosemont Seneca, which received $3.5m from one of Putin’s oligarchs, Elena Baturina in Feb 2014 so Putin could try to insure his hold over Kiev. Who got put on the board of Burisma in May of 2014? The VP’s son, who just got a pardon dating back to.........Jan 2014. Coincidence?

Any discussion about Ukraine from 2010-2014 that doesn’t mention Yanukovych, Mykola Zlochevsky, EU trade vote in 2013, Putin’s Russia-Eurasia Economic Pact of Dec 2013, Euromaiden protests, Yelena Baturina, Biden’s travels to Kiev, and the invasion of Donbas is missing some of the most critical details of the events. Poroshenko was elected later in 2014, so Zelensky wasn’t even in the picture.
