  3.  @101wormwood  I’ve lived all over the US, from CA to Maine, GA to WA, VA, NC, CO, and UT. Used to do a lot of investigative work 6 days a week mainly on medical fraud claims as well. I have multiple family members in the healthcare industry both in hospitals and nursing homes. You might find this surprising, but most Americans don’t take the bus or public transportation. So your anecdotes in Omaha don’t represent a broad perspective of the US. I suggest taking a course in statistics, probability, and analysis. It will help you avoid forming invalid ideas about reality. I would also recommend a course in critical thinking, where you learn to avoid ad hominem attacks because of the weakness of your arguments. It will help you out a lot.

  4. One of the biggest issues I have seen with academia is that they waste years upon years on political philosophy and policy, instead of geography, history, and demography. Peter comes from the school of thought where geography and demography dictate what you can’t do, then go from there. Academia and the gravity of thought in institutions is all based on wish lists that can’t be fulfilled, then waste lives trying to fix blame to some other group from an ideological perspective.

Judge has conflict of interest coming out of his ears, defense was ordered to make closing arguments not even knowing the charges, and prosecution's key witness provided exculpatory evidence that was shocking.

Installation of ABM systems was in anticipation of rogue states acquiring WMD, which many feared after the Soviet collapse. Putin was literally advising George W. Bush through that process. Coup in Georgia? Russia's invasion of Georgia in 2008 was predicated on a Russian false flag operation, the main concern being Russia's 2 gas pipelines that went from the Caspian to the Black Sea through Georgia. There was no coup in Ukraine. Putin worked very hard to install a Russian puppet in Kiev named Yanukovych, in 2010. The Ukrainian people rejected him after he signed the Russia-Eurasia Economic Pact in late 2013. This had nothing to do with the compromised and inept CIA.

They were of course supposed to be aluminum, but the snow shovel factory couldn't get steady supply of sheet aluminum due to it going elsewhere, so the plant managers did some deal with a titanium sheet factory to deliver that instead. When people give Carter credit for the B-2, it exposes a very amateur understanding of military advanced project research & development initiatives that generally span well outside of Presidential Terms. Carter had nothing to do with JDAM, which we developed between Edwards AFB & Eglin in the 1990s.

In the US, people respect meritocracy, personal achievement, and individuality vs skin color or family origin. Examples: I'm inspired by immigrants from the 3rd world who came to the US, became naturalized, busted their butts working hard to finally achieve their goals, far more than I respect an entitled naturally-born US citizen who grew up taking their wealth for granted. This is regardless of race/ethnicity. Americans love rag to riches stories, especially those of people who had nothing when they came here, and achieved things that are impossible in other parts of the world.

There was a sports stadium filled with T-72s. They scoured through each of them to assess their level of maintenance, serviceability, and intactness, and only found 2 that were worthy. They paid for the tanks, went back to Finland, and waited. The former East Germans sent the entire stadium of tanks by rail, since Finland has the Russian rail system width from the 1800s. They picked out the few T-72s they wanted, then sent the rest up to Oulu to be smelted down in a giant centrifuge for scrap.

A land route across the greatest changes in elevation (up and down inclines for roads with exorbitant energy costs), 2. Through the most warlord-infested regions of the world, where hundreds of billions worth of goods should pass through unmolested, 3. With no ability to provide security for those goods. Meanwhile the normal, cheapest trade routes on the seas will continue to be far more efficient, but will become more regional and subject to state piracy as shortages continue to expand.

US was accustomed to letting other nations have what they wanted under Bretton Woods, as long as they traded with US and cut out the Soviets. Everyone took advantage of that and stacked trade deals in their favor until the US had exported a ton of its heavy industries, manufacturing, and jobs. People got sick of this and were frustrated at losing their jobs, especially in the Rust Belt, and wondered why their parties and politicians had sold them out. Trump came along and promised to renegotiate all the US foreign trade deals in favor of US workers with only concern for the US #1. He delivered on that promise and showed the spineless hacks on DC how it could be done, and now it's solidified as US foreign policy even under sell-out traitor Biden.

The ones who lived through it tell the stories and show the photos of their families before the communists murdered them. The children grow up with this and don't forget either. It's more personal for us, even though we didn't directly experience it. My mom is from Finland. I have family photos and stories about my great uncles and aunts that died when Stalin invaded in 1939. I spent time riding around Helsinki with my great aunt Kerttu, who pointed out the city bus window and clearly recalled being evacuated in a bus in that exact spot when the Russians bombed Helsinki, and she watched people's body parts blown to pieces all over right in front of the central rail station at Rautatientori. Cuban exiles have related their stories about Castro taking over, stealing their farms and businesses under the ideas of some lazy apostate named Marx, and an agitator named Lenin. Their children and grandchildren carry those memories with them, even though they didn't witness it. They also see and hear the stories of other Cuban exiles who lost loved ones and their homes in Cuba at meals and family gatherings. When they pray, they hear grandparents and parents asking for blessings on relatives who are still there. It is very real, not a fading memory. There is a true sense of loss inflicted on people that doesn't just go away.

US would be very apprehensive about getting involved in internal EU civil wars because our soldiers would be caught between ethnic rioters and Islamic terrorists, nationalists, police, and military. European demographics don't have a large pool of military or police recruits. I'm not a doomsday type, but having lived all over Europe and seen how much it has changed from the 1970s-present, the rising mobs of disenfranchised non-Europeans with their inclination towards violence does not bode well for the future.

The closest that could have come to that was Jimmy Carter, but there are limitations to peanut farming talks, though still superior to career politicians who live in a very artificial reality. Carter was also a nuke submarine officer with unparalleled engineering knowledge, that didn't seem to translate well because he kept quiet about certain defense matters like ATB/B-2. Trump is the only President who brought in multiple black leader panels to implement inner city programs for the fatherless, negotiated more Middle East peace deals than the prior 11 Presidents combined, and didn't start any new wars. Trump also stopped the insane rate of drug costs by starting a price war between pharmaceutical companies, authorizing 900-1000 generic drugs each through HHS. Pfizer, Merck, GSK, etc. hated that, and they control all the corporate media along with 20 other biggest industries. The cult of personality/populism shouldn't ignore the practical moves Trump made that benefitted the US.

  37. I've been skeptically following Peter Zeihan since the 2000s when he was at STRATFOR. His forecasts from back then have unfolded almost like a script. Back then, he was a lone voice talking about the inevitability of China's decline, while all the other "experts" were breathlessly bloviating about the rise of China as a super power. They would have debates about this within STRATFOR, and Peter's arguments were backed with more data than the China super power proponents. His forecasts ended up being far more accurate, while the others have disappeared into obscurity.

Russia has no connected river network and is frozen almost year-round due to its latitude and relatively land-locked position. Nobody cares about Russia's resources other than maybe China and Arabs who rely on Russian grain for their subsidized bread industries. The US is the richest Nation in resources, connected river networks, largest arable farmland, sea ports, mountains, the inter-coastal waterways, vast tributaries on the Eastern Seaboard and Deep South, with vast forests, minerals, and multifaceted industries that have been built on this natural infrastructure. If US geography was taught in Russia, Russians would see that the US has no interest in Russian resources.

Americans complain about road construction and repair all the time without thinking about the alternative, like in Russia where cars fall onto potholes. Midway into the 2nd Chechen War, on Dec 31, 1999, Yeltsin went on Russian TV and said, "And now, it is time for me to retire.   45. California governance and administration is a case study in abject insanity and should be used as an example of how not to run anything. CA has one of the largest economies in the world due to a laundry list of diverse industries and market sectors, while people who don't produce anything and are horrifically incompetent occupy the city councils, State agencies, school boards, and legislature. Their management of natural resources, intentional failure to practice sound fire management, criminal neglect of natural water supplies, refusal to desalinate, and overall brain dead policies need a complete overhaul.
