Russian logistics is an interesting subject if you're coming from the modern era. They have been left behind at just about every major impulse of the industrial revolutions. Even when they eventually started laying rail throughout the Empire, the vast distances and extreme cold make moving anything quite difficult. They are critically-dependent on singular rail lines to connect major parts of the country with each other, Moscow and Saint Petersburg being one example. There isn't a vast network of highways like you see in the US or Northern Europe.

Rural Russians burn wood with indoor stoves to survive the brutal Russian winter. City dwellers live in mostly Kruschev era apartments with huge wood-burning ovens in the basement utility rooms, which heat water pipes that run throughout the buildings. Ukraine is much warmer than most of Russia, only getting down to -10 to -15C in the winter. Moscow and Novgorod will see -40C in the winter. Saint Petersburg is warmer at -30C, like Finland. Soldiers will still suffer though from exposure in -10C. Been there, done that all over the world, including US East Coast, Korea, WA State mountains, Finland, and Russia. Korean winter really sucked because of the Manchurian winds. Moscow was like that in the winter too. -40C plus wind cut right through my pants and made my quads feel like frozen meat at the grocery store. That was just during a walk from a heated car to a museum.

If you've ever seen industry at work in Russia, things happen much more slowly on a good day. There isn't incentive to get tasks accomplished quickly, just look like you're working. Russian serfdom is ingrained into the people, where common peasants and slaves were tied to the land they lived on, forbidden from free travel, and penalized if they didn't bring crop harvests to their masters. This sense of limited mobility while being demanded to perform for nobles underlies the general attitude of the people, even in the modern era where they can ride the train or drive their cars around.

I've been following his analyses since the 2000s. He goes to the ground truth, after having a higher level education on geography, demographics, and history. For ground truth, he talks with actual petroleum, civil, construction, aerospace, electrical, and transportation engineers with decades of experience in their fields, as opposed to trying to figure it out like an academic. George Friedman used the ground truth approach at STRATFOR, where Zeihan was a senior analyst, along with former FBI, DEA, and other intelligence analysts. This is why their presentations were so different than anything you would see in the brainless media advertisement channels.

It's well out of range of artillery. The only surface-to-surface fires Ukraine could use would have to be longer range missiles.

Patent description details artificial spike protein manipulation with positively-charged amino acids, and chimeric organisms as test subjects used to get the zoonotic disease to jump to humans. They ran the chimeric research at UNC Chapel Hill, with Shi Zhengli as one of the researchers until it was banned in 2014, at which time she picked up shop and took it to Wuhan. They took human fetal lung stem cell tissue and infused it into mice embryos until they successfully made mice with little human lungs. Then got the spike protein-augmented bat CV to successfully bond to the endothelia of the chimeric human/mice organisms. Fauci oversaw this from a funding aspect, and continued to fund it in Wuhan. He’s referenced in Moderna’s 2019 shareholder report (scrubbed but accessible through wayback), along with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DARPA, BARDA, and other unnamed entities down at the bottom of the report. Moderna’s CEO paints a picture to investors of a windfall in billions of dollars coming soon due to their work with mRNA technologies (without mentioning that every single clinical trial failed). The Ukraine invasion was really a bleed valve for all the mounting pushback against government lock-downs, masking, and injection policies, so an unusual amount of effort was redirected away from social unrest in Canada, the US, and Europe. That doesn’t detract from the fact that Putin invaded a sovereign nation without provocation.
