@danreed7889 When I was working with Finns, some armor officers said they had gone to East Germany to look over their T-72s in the 90s to pick out which ones they wanted and then pay for. There was a sports stadium filled with T-72s. They scoured through each of them to assess their level of maintenance, serviceability, and intactness, and only found 2 that were worthy. They paid for the tanks, went back to Finland, and waited. The former East Germans sent the entire stadium of tanks by rail, since Finland has the Russian rail system width from the 1800s. They picked out the few T-72s they wanted, then sent the rest up to Oulu to be smelted down in a giant centrifuge for scrap.

@ronarnett4811 I was sitting with them in their unit building going over their DIY-built tank crewman simulators, so yeah, I believed them. Didn't have any reason not to.

@geocam2 Did you prefer Trump's handling of Putin or Obama's and Biden's? Obama has been working to disarm Ukraine since the 2000s when he was a Senator, denied weapons to Ukraine when he was President. Trump reversed that and crushed the Russian economy with US energy policy. Russian economy doesn't grow unless oil is over $100/bbl. Under Trump, WTI went from $56/bbl down to $22, not counting the $15/bbl at the bottom drop during WuhanFlu.

@fdhgbjskUkraine is just one nation on the way to Poland and Romania for Putin. He's had plans to take all if those since the early 2000s at the latest.

@andersgrassman6583 In the Soviet centrally-planned economy, spare parts were what you stripped off other complete systems. Even new factory items were often made from incorrect or substitute materials. My friend Jukka who took me into Russia had these Titanium snow shovels at his summer cabin in Finland. The state snow shovel plant couldn't get aluminum sheet, but still had to crank out their quotas of shovels, so a plant manager did some bartering with a Titanium plant supervisor to get supplies of Titanium sheet, and ran it through the blade forming dies. Best snow shovels on earth! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@andersgrassman6583 That's just a microcosm of how things worked in USSR. Russia functions on layers of back-deal bartering, favors, state quota tickets, vodka, wine, and alliances. Nothing is really formal or by any book. It's one of the strangest places I've ever lived.

@Quidisi Trump slapped Putin around like the little punk that he is though, including crushing the Russian economy with US energy policy, and allowing US military forces to drop JDAMs and PGMs on the Russian battle group in Syria for 6 hours, after they attacked a tiny force of US SOF personnel over the Euphrates in Feb 2018. Under Obama/Biden/Hillary/Kerry, Putin was allowed to do whatever he wanted. Media lies.

@andersbjrnsen7203 "Right wing crazies" built the US defense establishment and industrial base. Trump kept Putin in check and crushed the Russian economy. Reagan told Gorbachev to bring down the wall. Obama was disarming Ukraine already as a Senator on the tail of Nunn-Lugar disarmament, which happened under Clinton. Obama/Biden/Hillary didn't allow weapons to go to Ukraine, while they fast-tracked Uranium One to Putin, and put Hunter & James Biden plus Chris Heinz as intermediaries to take Putin's bribes when Putin lost Yanukovych as his puppet in Kiev. You have it all very backwards.

@FinianLohbar Voting for Biden is voting for Putin. Look at the money trail and actions.

@jimmeh213 They would just say, “Normal. Da, kanyeshna.” Russians are used to being abused and a hard life. They don’t really care much about anything because they prefer not to get their hopes up. They’re a dichotomy of having really low self-esteem while being extremely proud and defensive of their frozen hell.
