Canada has been part of team America throughout its 20th Century industrialization. Canada is integrated North-South with the US, not East-West with itself. The problem now is the Canadian government has failed to maintain its own obligations for self-defense, and its NORAD obligations. Did you know the Royal Canadian Air Force barely has half of its required Hornet pilots? Recruitment, training, and retention is abysmal. They're still flying jets that were made in Reagan's first term in office. Trudeau delayed the acquisition of the planned F-35 Fleet for Canada. RCAF had already committed to JSF as a higher-tier partner in the program. There are dozens of Canadian companies manufacturing high-end subsystems and parts for F-35s. Whose bidding was Trudeau doing when he ran on the campaign promise of canceling Canada's commitment to the F-35? Either way, now NORAD's northern flank is exposed. The Russians have resumed strategic bomber penetration profiles and testing of NORAD's defenses. China has openly stated they will be taking territory in the arctic, along with Russia. Trudeau says he admires the Chinese dictatorship where the emperor can just declare a policy and it's immediately implemented.

It's more about security. Canada has failed to maintain its obligations for NORAD and defense of itself, exposing both it and the US to Russian and Chinese adventurism in the Arctic. The Canadian government has proven to its own citizens, its neighbors, and the world, that it is incapable and unwilling to take its own defense seriously. It has done this while enjoying billions upon billions of trade surplus with the US, while the US refines Canada's oil, which is then exported for Canadian profit. Then Canadian parliamentarians and academics have the audacity to look at the United States and laugh, criticizing us repeatedly from an imaginary position of self-righteousnous. Prepare for assimilation.

Imagine believing a theoretical economist who never balanced a checkbook over a billionaire who did more in the economic sector in the 1970s than all of Peter’s associates combined in their lives. You don’t just accidentally become a billionaire.
2
Imagine trusting a theoretical academic over an actual billionaire when it comes to finances. Peter has likely never had to balance a checkbook in his life, let alone manage a large organization. Trump has managed more payroll and real estate deals just in the 1970s, than Peter could ever imagine. Peter's failure here is not detecting the public image Trump has built, thinking that's the guy behind the scenes. Great leaders can't portray themselves as intellectuals, as it turns people off. They have to dumb it down.

@johnt8441 Have you ever researched successful people before? Tons of them have filed bankruptcy either personally or with certain corporate entities. Abe Lincoln Ulysses S. Grant William McKinley Henry Ford PT Barnam Walt Disney H.J. Heinz John Connally Anna Nichole Smith Bob Guccione Kim Basinger Milton Hershey Larry King Francis Ford Coppola Trump found a way to innovate out of $900,000,000 in debt, to get back in black into the billions. I've never heard of anyone pulling that off before. It takes a very tough person to do that.

They just lost their secret deal with Panama after Trump sent Rubio down there to put them on notice. Turns out China had Panama secretly signed onto Belt and Road, with our canal as one of China's B&R assets. Trump just canceled that. You would think a guy like Peter would be all over that massive geopolitical event. Nope....crickets

@witchking6787 He was the only US president that didn't take Chinese bribes like the others, because he doesn't need their money. Biden, the Bushes, the Clintons, and Obamas had been receiving millions upon millions of dollars from China illegally as traitors for generations. Clinton's Obama took Chinese money basically in the open during their campaigns. Remember Chinagate? Lincoln bedroom for sale? Riady family money-laundering? Clinton literally fired the FBI director to shut down the investigations into his treason.

@alb3978 Who is talking about war with Canada? Leftist media disinformation spigots doing Russia’s bidding trying to foment animosity between neighbors. Canada is already part of the US structurally, militarily, trade-wise, and geographically. Statehood would be just a formality.

@zee9709 So Canada sells oil not-for-profit? Think it through before typing.

@ I love Canada and have family members there in BC, who are Finnish ex-pats. What I’ve seen over the past 50 years from Canada’s parliament and prime ministers is alarming, especially with Trudeau. If you had told us back then that Canada would have an authoritarian PM who placed Chinese and Indian interests over that of actual Canadians, we wouldn’t have believed you. The place is unrecognizable.

@zee9709 Is English new to you? It's hard to understand what you're saying. It sounds like Chinese syntax channeled through English.

@sonneh86 How often are economists wrong and billionaire's right? Bullionaires have proof in the pudding. Economists have hot air, no skin of the game. Better to listen to doers instead of classroom theorists.

@tjt5055 Trump went to Wharton, and worked weekends with his father doing real estate. He knows more about finance, negotiations, how to set up deals, and how to produce outcomes that exceed expectations in ways that only a billionaire can. Silly professors with zero real-world accomplishments inhaling their own flatulence are clueless in this space.

@emilyhollands5330 Have you heard anything in Canadian news about the glaring lack of CF-18 Hornet pilots? It was already really bad at 62% many years ago, only dropping.
1
No, that was the last WH, Obama, Bushes, and Clintons. Trump doesn't need any money from China or Russia. He already earned billions legitimately. Remember Elena Baturina wiring $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca in Feb 2014? Hunter on the board of Burisma? You know Burisma was run for Putin by Ethnic Russians, right? Mykola Zlochevsky, appointed by Yanukovych-Putin's puppet in Kiev.

By dictating terms as the arbiter over Russia and Ukraine, then discovering and canceling China's secret deal with Panama as part of Xi's Belt & Road Initiative? Is this the kind of insight you get as a subscriber?
1
@vikingspud Did you not notice what Trump just did to China's Belt & Road Initiative in Panama?
1
You mean like taking back control of the Panama Canal, and simultaneously discovering that Panama had secretly signed onto China's Belt & Road, which is now terminated? Peter should have put out a big announcement on that. It's one of the most significant events of the 21st Century.

The next time the UK needs the US to bail it out, it will be because of ethnic/religious Civil War started by the invaders.

@ Labor Party and British Intelligence have been on Russian payroll for the better part of the last century. Philby was recruited in the 1930s. The Soviets had a very aggressive penetration and mass-saturation operation going during WWII, and ever since. They don’t discriminate by partisan politics, but of course enjoyed more comradeship with those who subscribed to Marxist ideologies. Marx lived in the slums of East End London after all.
