@migs7220 Public schooling (not education) is a curse to a child's development socially, emotionally, and academically. The teachers don't know the basic math and academics, so they aren't able to teach these subjects coherently.

 @vladimirofsvalbard9477 Teachers have always been babysitters of the state, to train children to conform. Teachers have rarely been academically competent.

@paulallen2680 The teachers don't have basic competence in elementary mathematics, geometry, or science. Keep in mind we have Karen brigades of unionized teachers who learned common core reverse-logic basic math, who are now expected to teach math to classrooms full of hyped-up, drugged-up kids with more fatherlessness as a rule, single mothers trying to juggle their responsibilities with minimal support, bombarded with distractions.

@migs7220 So I've been a County and State delegate for many years, and I do ask for a leaner school budget, but the school districts are effectively their own governing bodies with no accountability to anyone outside of the organized crime unions. What schools are used for are jobs programs, not institutions of learning. Teachers, parents, and students get the short end of the stick, while administrators and contractors rake in obscene salaries with negative benefit to the teachers and students. If we could reduce teacher workload and increase teacher quality by eliminating a lot of the mid-level and State administration, that would be a great start, but we can't because they are structural levers in the unions who wield a ton of control.

@paulallen2680 I attended public, on-base, and private schools growing up all over the US and the world, so I got a lot of samples sizes. I went to 7 different high schools, not including my exchange student program to Japan. The Prussian Reform model format is pretty universal, except in Montessori. Lecture format, children abandoned for the day, 45 minute blocks of limited instruction, Pavlovian bell-ringing on the intercom to switch classes from Junior High and up, behavioral modification and conditioning focus, very limited academics. Private schools were ahead by about 2 years on average, but still the same structural model mostly, with their own unique cultures driven by the particular sect. I’ve also had my kids at various types of schools in 4 different States, 2 countries, and now home schooling for the younger ones. My older boys went to a unique academy in Europe, so they’ve learned foreign languages by immersion. If you’re not going to learn anything in school, it might as well be in a foreign language.
