@M8Stealth Assuming Russia is stopped in Ukraine, the savings are immense from not having to defend NATO, where US forces are actually stationed.

@theetiologist9539 Javelin missile contracts have been ongoing for decades. We were using them already in the late 1990s. US is replenishing the UK’s Javelins with a $309 million contract signed in May 2022, and another $311m contract in Sep 2022. Current contracts go out until Feb 28, 2025.

SEATO was a proposal during the Cold War that has somewhat come into play. China has been using Pakistan as a lever for decades against India and the US. There’s a minority report within DIA that has a strong case showing China supported the Muslim Brotherhood leadership to launch The Big Event on 9/11, to get the US sucked into Afghanistan and waste our combat power while China used stolen and bribed US technology to modernize their military.

@trumpyla In the early 2000s, Putin’s foreign ministers were briefed on his long-term expansion of Russia back into its “rightful territories”, including the Baltics and Finland. In Russia, they teach that they Czar created Finland in 1809 and that Finland is part of Russia, a lost territory that needs to be taken back. They also teach that the fascist Finland invaded Russia in The Great Patriotic War, so Finland is an enemy to Russia. This is the history Putin “knows” to be true.

The maintenance and overhaul schedules have been ongoing for over a century in the US, supporting the most powerful and modernized Navy in history. We have dry docks in Hawaii, Seattle, Portland, San Diego x2, Bayonne, Brooklyn, Sturgeon Bay x3, Newport News x 8, Pascagoula x 2, Philadelphia x3, and Boston.
