@MarcosElMalo2 They have lost 2 of their Black Sea Flagships already in the past few months to a nation that doesn’t have a robust anti-ship capability. Once Krim is isolated, Ukraine will then be able to focus even more on the anti-ship weapon campaign, with over a dozen NATO nations who want to see their latest AS missiles and ISR platforms tested, because they face significant seaborne threats from Russia as well. Think Norway, the UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, as well as new members Sweden and Finland. Ukraine is in no rush to lose thousands of soldiers assaulting Krim, though they can make inroads with the echelons of fire from HIMARS and M777 coordinated with drone strikes. Anyone left in Krim will be pinched and Russia’s options for supporting them will be severely constrained, unwinnable.

@MarcosElMalo2 No problem. I lived in Russia from 2008-2009, and have been trying to tell people how utterly broken their whole system is. They're beyond dirt-poor, and their military equipment is a sad joke. Their culture never evolved with the industrialized world because they're geographically isolated in a very cold sub-Arctic region that is extremely difficult to trade with. On top of that, they've experienced 2 brain drains on average over the past 5-6 generations, from 1917-present. They just self-inflicted another brain drain with the mobilization on both ends: those who are fleeing by the hundreds of thousands, and those who are being immediately sent to the front as bullet and artillery sponges. It's a place of no hope, at least among adults.

@MarcosElMalo2 With precision long range munitions and ISR drones, combined with other ISR data provided to Ukraine, they don't need to approach Krim with conventional assaults.

@MarcosElMalo2 Krim is basically an Island when it comes to logistics. With no food supplies coming in, there doesn’t have to be an assault. This is warfare 101, called a siege.

@MarcosElMalo2 I was in Long Range Surveillance in the late 1990s, among several other units that specialized in battlefield reconnaissance. I’ve been studying Soviet and Russian order of battle, MTO&E, and history most of my life.

@noneofyourbusiness7965 Everybody expected Ukraine to fall within days, based on the assumption that Zelensky would flee. By not fleeing and instead rallying Ukraine, it transformed Putin's lightning-fast special military operation into a drawn-out conventional invasion that Russia didn't plan for-especially one where precision munitions and ISR assets were provided to Ukraine.
