 @rrsharizam US, Canada, and Europe have clean air compared to other urbanized regions. China and India have real problems with pollution.

@frankjoseph4273 China maxed-out their rice paddy fields and wheat in the 1600s. They started growing American hemisphere foods stolen from markets in the Philippines, and planted those on terraced hills upstream of the river network. This created an ecology where the soil was no longer supported in the hills, and monsoons cause even worse mudslides, which cascade down into the populated riverside urban areas, causing massive destruction.
