@badguy1481 I could be proven wrong some day, but based on those reasons I cited and others I don't think it will ever happen.

😆😅🤣. We don't even know you so why should we trust you?? But seriously, Cleveland is my home town and if and when a mass migration happens Cleveland will one of many destinations. That is basic logic. Metro Cleveland is over a million now.

@WoodT92 Stability for whom?? It sure wasn't stability for the poor and middle class of Haiti. It is fact not opinion that both Duvalier terms were rife with corruption and repressive policies all to create more wealth for themselves. The Duvalier family became wealthy through their control of tobacco. Daddy doc was responsible for 30,000 killed in the country. And the US government especially under Republican administrations propped up the Duvalier corrupt practices for most of the 50's to about 1991.

@NatureShy So in other words we could say that the northern movement of many birds is because of access to more feeders, but also due to climate change. Bird migration also is becoming earlier because of our warming climate. I am avid birder myself here in New Mexico so I can identify with what you are saying. Thanks for your comment.

What word would you have used instead?

@Spamlure No water flowing from a river to the ocean is wasted because every river is a vital lifeline for numerous fish and other animals that use it. A healthy flow to the Ocean is necessary for any river including especially large rivers like the Columbia. People need to disconnect from this narrow focus that rivers are primarily meant to serve human beings and human society. Until we start making decisions with the consequences for the earth in mind we will continue our race to our own demise. Damning of rivers all over the world has also decimated the environment by causing the near extinction of so many fish species. There is also the high cost of building such a long aqueduct or whatever we call it. The high cost of pumping the water and the simple fact that even a ten foot wide aqueduct would be like a drop in the bucket for the needs of the southwest. Another problem with piping water down to the southwest is that they could continue to think that they'll be water from somewhere to save them and they will be less motivated to change their wasteful habits with water. The answer is in part people learning to live with dramatically less water then they are used to. And possibly relocating. Changing agriculture patterns would need to change too. It is only going to get hotter and drier in the foreseeable future and people better wake up to that reality.

@duggydugg3937 Brine is the byproduct of desal plants which is essentially extremely salty sea water. It can not be just pumped back into the ocean as is because it would sink to the bottom of the ocean causing a oxygen poor environment which is hazardous to see life. One remedy is to dilute the brine before pumping it back into the ocean. But still leaves the problem of heavy metals and even uranium in the diluted brine which is still hazardous to the environment. One solution to this is to extract these concentrated products for commercial use. And that is the nutshell explanation. The reality is much more complicated. Desal plant technology is evolving quickly so new technologies should be developed soon.

@nobull772 I'll have to look into that story. Thanks for commenting about it.

That depends a lot on what "rapid population growth" would look like. Because like the narrator suggested if a few hundred of thousand move to Cleveland(my former home region) it would take a while for facilities to adjust to the food and living needs for that many people moving in. More stores, more shipments of products, etc. etc.

The math doesnt seem to indicate that SC lags behind NC pin populattion at all. SC is half the area of NC so it's understandable that its population would be about half. Was this just another excuse to make a video?!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If you knew this was going to happen why didn't you get on the news stations and let us know??

Win what?? The over population of Indonesia continues unabated and that is destroying the natural environment. Natural habitat is being destroyed for palm oil trees, wildlife is continually taken from forests and these and other problems will wipe out native animals like orangutans.

How can the city rectify its subsidence problem when its population problem continues unabated?? The over populated city cannot get enough water from than any other source but the ground water.

Too expensive and besides the states along the river wouldn't allow it.

The capital city is being built on an industrial forest region as several have commented, but it was originally a rain forest which decimated for the industrial forest. Indonesia's underlying problem like the rest of the world is a complete failure in controlling population growth. The global population growth underlies so many of the world's problems from pollution of all kind, air, water and land, to climate change to the exploitation of wildlife. Indonesia is guilty of burning thousands of acres of rain forest that is then used for palm oil trees. Palm oil is used in countless products around the world. The Sixth Extinction is well under way in part because of the ravaging of the natural environment of Indonesia.

If they are terrible politicians voted on by the people then what does that say about the people. As George Carlin has said "people complain about politicians, but we voted for them and that's the best we can do"! That was over a decade ago when Carlin said that. If he was around today he would be even more critical of republicans then he was then. Ted Cruz, MTG, Boebart Lauren, George Santos even trump trying to get back in to avoid prosecution for his multiple crimes!!

It's not true that Arizona is still deeply red as they just elected a democratic governor and they have two democratic senators. Well one is kind of a quasi democrat, but still votes mostly democrat.
