@David-yo5ws Out of curiosity what do you mean by 'LHS' tanks? Because my understanding is the upright tanks contain LN, LOX and water and the methane is in horizontal tanks a couple hundred feet further to the left of the upright tanks.

@David-yo5ws Thanks for clarification. Have a good day.

The upgraded OLP at the Boca Chica launch site will in fact have a much stronger foundation on top of which will be laid the water cooled steel sandwich which will also provide a powerful upwardvpointing shower to counter the wrath of 33 raptors firing. Add to that is the plan to raise starship off the launch pad in half the time as happened on launch one. All of these changes should make a big difference.

The whole point of the Boca Chica site is development of the starship and the launch pad. Most of the work at the Cape has stopped apparently to see how development at BC gets to the working model of both.

Space X is attempting to iterate the largest and most powerful rocket ever along with a launch pad and make them both reusable quickly. Consequently engineering will continue to be integral to that process.

The only example of the so called 'dangerous culture'' at Space X was in their avoidance of any kind of flame diversion beginning with the earlier starship tests up to the booster tests. The upgraded OLM system will be a big test going forward as it eschews the previous belief that flame trench was unavoidable.

Even before the first launch it was known that a major upgrade to the pad would happen. Space X thought that the fondag concrete could hold up for one launch based on how it fared in the static fire. It didn't hold up for launch and Space X admitted they were wrong. Now 2 months since the last launch the pad upgrade is nearing completion. Would will soon see how effective the upgrade is when a static fire is done.

Where did you get the idea that launch tower now needs to be torn down? That's not happening because for one the launch tower was never the problem to begin with. The main and outstanding is the base of the launch pad that needed a massive upgrade and water deluge both of which are nearing completion. Static fires should help to evaluate if this upgrade is adequate before the next launch.

@jebes909090 That's only part of it. Space X really wanted to get this launch out of the way knowing there were many improvements on the starship and launch pad coming.

It is standard procedure that all launch activity was stopped at the Boca Chica site so there was nothing special as to the FAA actions.

In the first place Starship won't need to fire all six engines to launch from Mars. And second because even landing on Mars is many years away it seems silly to me to worry about that now. Many such problems will be resolved in coming years.

@dansegelov305 . If you are so concerned about it then get down to Boca Chica and make sure Space X understands the importance of what you say. I'm sure they'll listen to you!! 😂😅🤣

A giant bidet system is also included with the water cooled plates which should mitigate acoustic effect of those raptors firing. Have you seen the massive pipes that will be used in the deluge? Plus Elon stated that they will try to launch starship in 2.5 seconds instead of the 5 that happened with the first launch and that accounted for much of the damage.

Right now is at best talk of an off shore launch facility.

In answer to the question Why can't we build these anymore? Because we don't need to build anything like the F-1 anymore. Course I'm stating the obvious.
