The Federalist Society that referred this judge to trump for appt should completely . . . I'm not sure what word applies here, but this organisation is an antidemocratic entity who should lose all authority to make judicial referrals.

What this ruling and other recent rulings by the SCOTUS appear to be saying is that they don't want to take any responsibility for these harder questions; If trump is guilty of committing an insurrection against the government then why is he not blocked from running for president again? The SCOTUS doesn't want to touch that. Does trump have immunity from prosecution? The SCOTUS has delayed ruling on that further delaying other trials against trump as if they favor him for some unknown reason. Maybe it's not as much that the SCOTUS favors trump, but they abdicate their responsibility because they are too afraid to take on hard questions anymore. By avoiding their responsibility they essentially drop in the lap of the american people to deal with in the next election. If that is true then what good are they anymore? It's as if the Supreme Court is useless to resolve legal issues of consequence. After all they repeatedly made extreme rulings on abortion, guns and the various issues around trump that came to them they have rejected or delayed or offered specious arguments for!! Label me disgusted!!

On one point in particular I disagree with you when you said that the nuclear reactor in Iran should be bombed cuz you claim that they provided support to Hamas for this terrorist attack. That is dumb and not justified for two reasons. First and foremost there is no evidence linking Iran to support of Hamas in this attack and that is what the US government has been saying. And second bombing a nuclear power plant is a really dumb idea anyway because of the toxins that could be spread through the region. This is not like the nuclear reactor that Israel bombed in Iraq back in 80's because that was an unfinished reactor.

What this ruling is saying from the SCOTUS is they, which may just mean the conservative right wing of the court, do not have the guts to make what should be a slam dunk ruling that trump does not deserve immunity. It is incomprehensible that they would rule in this way and I am now fully convinced that they don't care about justice for this country. The SCOTUS has forced the decision back on the American people to remove donald trump from having a chance at being president. They could have made a timely ruling on this immunity issue but delayed that. So as Ben Meisalas is saying that by delaying even hearing the case until April 22 this puts Tanya Chutkin's overseeing the case unlikely to happen before the election. Again this is forcing the american people to do what THEY the SCOTUS refuse to do which is just do your god damn jobs!! It's bad enough that 99% of the republican party is too cowardly to stand up to trump. Now we have the SCOTUS which is too cowardly to do their jobs! I am shocked that it has come to this.
