That's the kind of fantasy that many soldiers might dream of, but the reality is very few ever achieve such notoriety. Especially in the last several decades America hasn't been involved in a justifiable war since WWII. Everything since has been a complete waste of American soldiers not to mention it civilians trillions wasted on illegal wars. See what you got started. Good thing I caught myself, cuz I could have gone on for a while. 🙄

@TheEchoeman Maybe you haven't the story that Mullah Omar the head of the Taliban was offering to turn over Bin Laden, but Bush jr wanted his war because that's what republicans do so he turned down Mullah!! Bush and company were the true terrorists in that war. Obama wasn't much better even though he didn't start the war he dramatically increased drone bombings killing untold hundreds of civilians and creating more enemies opposed to the US occupation.

@PInk77W1 You just ignored everything Potter did before he died. In other words you judged him by how he died instead of how he CHOSE to live. Maybe you'll understand that one day.

@PInk77W1 Did you even watch the video? Dean Potter was one of two killed in his last wing suit flight off of Half Dome. He had apparently done 600 wing suits jumps and was also a very good free solo climber. He did take a parachute for the latter part of his life. But he liked living on the edge and ultimately paid for it as some thrill seekers often do. He did what he enjoyed doing and did not harm anyone in his endeavors that we know of.

It is impossible to say if unpredictable winds played any part. The reality is people who live on edge like these two did often keep pushing the envelope to get a better thrill. It's exactly like a substance addiction. And many push it to far.
