  2. Natural variability still plays a prominent role in some extreme weather events such as heat waves and drought as well heavy precipitation. No climate scientist would say otherwise. But, Climate change will become even more intense in coming years with worsening heat waves, drought and heavy precipitation. Climate changes loads the deck so to speak leading to an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather.

  5. Texas just had a grassland fire that burned 300,000 acres so it looks like they can't control grassland fires either can they?!?! Maybe it's more that you prefer to over simplify the problem as a way of disparaging California?!

  7. Until it burns whole towns like happened in Paradise, California 2018?! Or the grassland fires of the North Texas panhandle that burned through a record 300,000 farmland earlier this year?! Were those just rich farmers and ranchers who just happen to also grow food and raise cattle for the people of this country??

  11.  @GregBirkin . According to Cal Fire officials the cause of fires by humans is as high as 95%. But lest you think this due to primarily arsonists here is a breakdown of human caused wildfires. "The top three human activities known to have led to these blazes are equipment and vehicles, arson, and debris burning. This includes accidental incidents and neglect, such as leaving a campfire unattended or a malfunctioning catalytic converter".
