@CARLOS. Of course you complain California needing more reservoirs, but say nothing about the 300 million per year LA is spending to upgrade water catchment systems. 🙄

So it rained for two weeks in Hawaii, but that is Hawaii which is a tropical ecosystem and very sandy soils so of course Hawaii will get more rain. And because of the sandy soils it can handle heavy rain more easily!

@locke3862 Thank goodness we have environmentalists willing to fight for the environment which includes restoring rivers to their natural way. This is important because people set themselves up a long time ago in so called civilized societies that they could do whatever they wanted to the environment and think that there would be no consequences because there was so much nature out there. Fortunately, many of us are waking up to the fact that we need to take part in restoring the environment while we still can.

@imd1b4u FYI. LA spends 300 million per year in infrastructure upgrades. Outside of that there is no more space in LA for reservoirs. Besides more reservoirs are like more bandaids which don't deal with the underlying problem which is too many people in the west. The west over built beginning a hundred years because they thought the high level of precipitation would continue. It hasn't of course and there is little real desire by anyone to limit population growth.

@JenniferGarcia-yj3jo Well put and thanks for your response. Have a good day.

Funny I'm not hearing any panic in this story!? But go ahead and keep saying that if it helps feel better.

@hoahocvui. I get the impression that you don't understand even the basics of climate change. For example the weather doesn't change randomly like the weather. That's why climate scientists talk about 'forcing agents' that force the climate to change. So CO2 for example is forcing agent in the climate and as it accumulates over many decades it can cause the climate to gradually warm. Ask the climate warms it can also hold more moisture and makes flooding more likely. That just a couple of the basics of climate change.

It's kind of strange how all of the weird comments are at the end of the comments page. At least you aren't alone at the end of them!! 🙄

😅🤣😅. You complain about LA sending water back to the ocean, but say nothing about the 300 million $$ per year in upgrades to LA's water retention system. 🙄

Some people are never happy. You don't give any credit to the reservoirs that have gotten a major boost nor the mention of the 300 million $$ per year in upgrades to LA's water catchment system mentioned at 2:29.

Sounds like you are the one doing the complaining. Even with a year's advance notice how could the authorities have made preparations to catch the water from these storms?? That's what the 1300 reservoirs in California are for!! Or the 300 million $ people per year spent in LA county to upgrade their water catchment system, something none of the complainers about this video mentioned including of course yourself!!

Well I can say one thing is clear. You have learned the racist language to devalue these people who have come across the border seeking a better life. That language of devaluing a human being and treat then as 'crud'or garbage is what leaders and average people say to make it easier to discriminate and worse subject these UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS to abuse and violence. Surely you are better than that and realize these immigrants have desires for a better life just like you do. Why else would these immigrants travel sometimes over a 1000 miles on foot because what they left is so bad!?

Doesn't work that way don't ya know??

Why are even talking about hurricanes in relation to this story?? Hurricanes rarely if ever come to California. And in the Pacific they called cyclones not hurricanes. That's an Atlantic Ocean thing.

There have several successive storms through the mud and northern part of the state so your "two days of rain" is way off. This rain does take a big chunk out of the low water levels in reservoirs.
