  5.  @chloedinwiddie4116  The names are not picked for the storm. The list of names are from a predetermined list created in advance of the hurricane season. So the list runs through the alphabet as each storm becomes a tropical storm, alternating between male and female names. Over many years those names will come up again. If the entire list is used like last year then Greek letters are used.

That is until our sun begins to use up its hydrogen fuel and starts to expand roasting the earth and its inhabitants. We've still got a billion years or so. But I did put it on my calendar just as a reminder. But I digress. The point is there have been numerous extinctions through time both large and small and the PETM was not something humanity could have survived except by going under ground or leaving the planet, but only if we had enough warning and enough starships!! HaHaHaHa.

  11.  @Thelavinefamily  FYI. That pattern of the combined 6 and 9 is used by weather reporters on weather maps to denote the counter clock wise rotation of a tropical storm system north of the equator. Simple as that.

  14.  @snakeeyes4209  I don't have to look it up because I understand the limitations of cloud seeding as it called. You are talking about one story or source. That doesn't begin to qualify is proof of wide spread weather manipulation. Cloud seeding is only effective where clouds are present and even then it is inconsistent.

  18.  @charlesl21  When it comes to a subject like climate change it isn't about trusting the media, but listening to the climate scientists who have talked increasingly about the threat posed by our warming climate. After all you can go to specific sites run by climate scientists like Real Climate started by Gavin Schmitt who is a former climate scientist with NASA. And if you reject the media then what are you doing here watching this video and commenting? Do you discriminate at all what media sources are reliable to you vs those that aren't? I follow several main stream media sources for current news because I can cross check their reporting with other sources and in this way find which sources are reliable. Global warming is accepting around the world by the vast majority of the science community. The detractors are either non scientists or talking outside their area of expertise and make a tiny but noisy minority. I could go on with evidence from several areas that support the current understanding of warming in the world, but without some indication that you are open to further dialog of the CURRENT evidence as opposed to some media story from almost 50 years ago I see no reason to continue.

Even if he lives to be 90 he will at the least have quite a few years of peace before the encroaching sea level rise threatens his home. He may have more to fear from a hurricane or a hostile take over of the US government by some nameless group of misguided anarchists.

  21.  @futurewolffilms607  As for China they have the most progressive reusable energy technology perhaps in the world. Between solar power, wind power, electric cars and high speed trains the far surpass the rest of the world in renewable energy. Their problem continues to be a large number of coal fired plants and a population four times that of the US. And air pollution in their cities is some of the worst in the world. So you vastly oversimplified the reality of China. India is another problem which doesn't begin to compare to the US or China in fossil fuel emissions, but of course it is increasing.
