  1. It's funny how smug everyone is about this story pointing out that the number of people infected with covod was as much as 500 K. And it is true that we all felt that the number of infected in China had to be much higher and the death rate also likely much higher. But what we didn't have was any kind of estimate of that number let alone how it was obtained. This short video though incomplete does indicate an estimate of the number of infected back in April and it was determined by the elevated antibodies in a cross section of people. What this brief story leaves out is from whom was this data obtained from? Antibody counts are obtained from a blood test not the throat swab which measures the presence of the virus via the RNA. And if the infected count is estimated to be 10 times higher than the official estimate then the death rate could also have been as much as 10 times higher or 30,000 instead of 3000. But that figure may never be discovered.
