Comments by "Michael Deierhoi" (@michaeldeierhoi4096) on ""Ridiculous u0026 Crazy" - Musk's Mars Plan: Astronomer EXPOSES The Hurdles To Colonizing The Red Planet" video.
@rjlchristie You just stated that you don't understand what is involved in owning and managing a rocket company that is the most successful and reliable in the world. The Falcon 9 rocket is doing what no other rocket is doing today. But your vague and general comment reflects your vague and less than general understanding of what it takes to develop a rocket company that can reliably launch rockets into orbit and with a human crew on board. You don't have to like Musk as a person to still recognize what he has accomplished with Space X!!

I think that says a lot about the audience that follows that interviewer.

Your comment focuses on the title only and ignores the content of the video because the astronomer was much more nuanced in his comment about going to Mars.

". . . to believe what has been written is beyond asinine". 😅😂. No, what is beyond asinine is your comment because in the first place scientists do not prove or disprove their theories. Scientists collect evidence to support or to recommend a theory be revised. And of course scientists get a wrong sometimes, many times, but they are human too after all!! How do you think our society has progressed as fast as it has without scientists being right about their theories anyway?? Your comment is so vague and general that it highlights YOUR lack of understanding of science!! And people often try to ridicule or discredit that which they don't understand! You just PROVED that old adage!!

That's really kind of on a different scale of hard to believe events. If one looks a little closely at what Musk has predicted many of his predictions have fallen flat and not gone anywhere. For example Musk predicted the hyperloop technology and recently said himself that it wouldn't work. And predictions of when something would happen are also overly optimistic. Elon has said we could reach Mars in 2 years recently.

@SiVisPacem_ParaBellum Going to Mars isn't a primary goal NASA anyway. They are busy enough with a multitude of other extra planetary missions which Space X is often contracted to get them on their way.

@geo525252. You are like many other uninformed people about the history of space with that comment. 50 years ago there were no space stations orbiting earth. Thus there was never the challenge of going to and from an orbiting space station. The Space X Dragon has made a couple dozen of trips to the ISS and about 8 of those carrying astronauts. The other trips carried cargo to the ISS. Boeing has a failure at getting astronauts to the ISS and you act like humans are completely incapable of getting astronauts into space!! Educate yourself before making dumb comments!!

That said a lot to me about the kind of audience that follows him! Thankfully the astronomer had a good scientific response.

@saheebsdream Convenient of you to not mention the tracks see from orbiting lunar satellites which were made by rovers used by astronauts on the moon. There are literally hundreds of other pieces of evidence that are proof of the lunar landing by astronauts on the Apollo missions. Such as the 400,000 people involved in the development, construction and launch of the Saturn 5 rocket with its crew. How could that many people be involved in a conspiracy?? And advantage can you possibly gain by denying that we landed on the moon? And if you deny the moon landing how many other conspiracy theories have you bought into willfully?

One Elon Musk is more than enough. At one extreme he has moved Space X to amazing progress with the Falcon 9 and now Starship. On the other he has turned Twitter into a misinformation propaganda machine worth less than half the value he paid for it. On top of that Musk has donated at least 70 million to get a former president reelected that invoked an insurrection against the government and has 34 felony indictments among other guilty verdicts. That is not the behaviour of a visionary!!

@deepcosmiclove That's not really a good analogy because one can fit one million Earth's into the sun which is also a ball of super hot gases. Even Niels Degrasse Tyson has commented on this by saying we would be better off earth making earth more livable than to go to Mars and try and make that plant livable!!

In addition to what andromedon said it is a false statement to say that decades ago there were astronomers just like this one who argued against going to the moon. If you have to go decades into the past to try and make a comparison with an astronomer today then your argument abruptly fails. Astronomers were nowhere near as informed about space science as they are now. You essentially just highlighted your OWN lack of understanding about science with that general statement!!

I'm sick of these people who don't understand science and yet think they can criticize scientists about what they say. 😅😂 You just proved the old adage that people often criticize what they don't understand.
