@markcummins6571 I don't recall anyone saying that the theory of gravity was "where there is mass there is gravity". That statement alone highlights you misunderstanding of the issue. The issue is that quantum mechanics cannot yet be reconciled with GR simply because for force of gravity is so weak at the same scale as the other forces are so strong at. The LHC is probably not even remotely close to discerning the hypothetical graviton. Technologically we are at least many decades from resolving this question. The bottom line is that the Standard Model has passed every test thrown at it. And gravity is not resolved in the SM I explained above. Of course we can still say that the SM is incomplete just as the Newton's theories of classical physics were incomplete. So not wrong just incomplete. See the difference?!

@LucidObscurity1 Interesting that you claim that the standard model has so many holes, but don't mention even one. So far the Standard Model has stood up to countless tests. Now simply because researchers know that it is not complete because quantum mechanics and relativity cannot yet be reconciled is not a sign that it has holes in it as some contrarianians might posit.

@neilanderson891 Because every single graphic I have seen of the earth rotating on its axis and orbiting the sun is shown from above the northern hemisphere. And second we know the earth rotates counterclockwise because the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. And we know that earth orbits the sun counterclockwise because that is what science has been telling us (with evidence) for decades. The orbit of the earth is also verified by the movements of other planets. So there are many ways to know the how.

Electrostatic charges happen completely independent of the Electric Universe fairy tale. Do a little research and you will find that there is very little science holding the electric universe together.

@markcummins6571 If you think the path that is being done to understand gravity then where is your answer to the gravity problem?? A lot of people who know nothing about the science still claim to know why we don't have a "good theory of gravity"! What a pile of manure!!
