@FredyArg You need to research that yourself as I and others have done. If you look at the space program going back 60 years you will find that there were numerous forms of technology developed from the work on rockets, planetary probes and other aspects of space exploration. If you google technology derivations of particle physics you will see how huge science projects like the LHC led to many new technologies. That is how development of technology progress. These new technologies are rarely foreseen, but that is what happens when science is working at the very edge of our understanding. There is still one more aspect to consider which is that scientists want to better understand the universe at its most fundamental levels. So from this perspective the thought of any real world application is the last thing on their minds. If you study science even at a basic level that fact becomes clear to you.

@aidanclarke6106 That could have something to with the 2 microsecond life span of the muon compared to the electron which has been overcome with modern technology.
