  1. I feel less hopeful for the future of humanity when two countries fight over an uninhabited rock, Isla Perejil, that is just off the northern Morrocan Coast. Why Spain has remained resistant to giving up this tiny rock seems emblematic of why far deeper disputes are likely to smoulder indefinately. In fact the disputes on every single one of these disputed territories leaves me with the feeling that human beings can go to the absolute extreme in fighting for what they think is theirs!! Think about it! When Morroco planted a flag on the island Spanish war ships showed up ready for whatever!? Over a freaking empty rock no where near the coast of Spain??? Disgusting!
