And to only look at the economics or the Dow Jones or unemployment completely misses the point because with the other hand Trump is actually betraying average Americans with tax scam he passed with repubs in Dec 2017 which gave more $$ to the wealthy which they didn't even need. And Trump has done nothing to push an infrastructure bill through. And Trump goes out of his way to demonize anyone who criticizes him even though he is being rightfully criticized!! Those verbal attacks give unstable individuals license to act out almost as if they were ordered to!! The El Paso Walmart killer used some of Trump's own rhetoric which indicates that he was driven to act violently!! Trump is such a coward he can't handle anyone challenging him and that should give EVERYONE pause!!!

Never in my life seen anyone double down on his own lack of awareness of anything that doesn't effect his bottom line. e.g. his wealth, his image, his entitlement! Also sad that so many republicans are still to afraid to speak up to him. This CPAC meeting would have been the perfect opportunity.

  6. ​ @I_WillB  The problem here is what is defined as 'pro-life' because Republicans act as though they have a copyright on term and it can only be used to refer to their conservative attitude of restricting all abortions. But the Republicans have a problem in claiming to be 'pro-life' because even though they say they are all about pro-life and oppose any abortion their policies have cut things like Planned Parenthood clinics which provided prenatal care, post natal care, tests for various conditions that afflict women like ovarian cancer. Abortions were a small percentage of the procedures done by Planned Parenthood clinics, but republicans are so extreme they have tried to eliminate ALL of the PP clinics in red states. This means republicans don't care about women's health but only their hold on power. They are not pro-life at all because they have taken away services that protect a woman before and after the child is born and that makes them hypocrites!!

  8. Bryan Taylor Cohen has really developed into a good facilitator and interviewer wiith stand up citizens like Jammie Rafkin. This was an excellent counter argument to repiblicans saying we are a republic. This is the kind of nuance often missing is political dialog.

It is disturbing to think of republicans gaining control of the House and/or Senate because we will have to listen to more rhetoric by cowards like Paul in the future. And worst of all nothing will get done in Congress. Course repubs are trying damn hard to prevent anything from getting done now!!

  15. AOC lays it very succinctly in calling out the republicans for their hypocrisy. Here is another of republican hypocrisy. Trump and his supporters have always complained about the criticism of Trump even as THEY have continued to attack everyone on the left and they even savage their own like Romney when there is any criticism of Trump. So republicans are not only hypocrites, but bigots as well!

There was a good report on Lawrence O'Donnell's program just last night in which he reported that Justice Kavanaugh responded to the urgent request by Jack Smith that the court would look at the matter and requested trump's attorney to file a response by December 20. And what was particularly notable about Kavanaugh's role here was that 25 years earlier he wrote a legal brief stating that a president is an official of the state and can definitely be held accoubtable for crimes in office after he leaves office. People really need to learn patience in letting this process play out. All the evidence and associates of trump who have plea barguined agreed to turn over incriminating evidence is a sign that trump won't get to walk away. The noose is tightening around his neck and he has used about every option to delay, but not avoid prosecution.

  19. @donofro Glenn Kirschner made it quite clear why the SCOTUS is most likely to rule against trump because that would empower him ABOVE the SCOTUS itself and that would be the most self-destructive decision they could make. So stop being terrified about the worst case scenario happening. That never does anyone any good.

  29. That was an insightful discussion and I wouldn't characterize it as a 'clash' at all. Although Don Lemon's conversation with Musk was definitely a clash as Musk for whatever reason and despite the signed agreement took offense to some of Lemon's questions. Musk clearly is no where near the free speech advocate he claims to be. I have been saying for some time that Musk is like a child with too many toys because like a child he lacks the discipline to moderate his behavior buying one company after another or creating them because he had an idea. Musk seems to lack any restraint on himself to say that is too much, I need to hold off on that idea. His erratic behavior, drug use are signs of spreading himself too thin and having no self discipline to pull back.
