  1. I live in southern New Mexico starting just three months ago. And the price of gas literally doubled in one month. So my recent gas bill was 200 $$ for one month. This is despite living in a mild climate with temperatures only going below freezing at night and not by much. And I keep the thermostat at night down to 65 F or 18 C. I am on Social Security and was able to assistance for part of the bill which of course helped a lot. But a lot of people don't have such assistance.
