Here's some common sense for you. If countries and states open too soon while still dealing with a growing case load and doing so without adequate testing and contact tracing they will see a resurgence of cases. That will lead to more deaths and over whelmed hospitals. One look at NYC should remind you that isn't a prudent course. Some states that are reopening are already seeing some ICU's becoming full with covid patients. This despite the warmer weather and people getting out. Have a nice day.

It's true that creating a vaccine usually takes many years. But you are forgetting that some 100 companies are working on a vaccine now and the technology to make a vaccine is much one is much better then just a decade ago.

@TheEightSixEight There is no evidence that those antibodies would impart immunity to another person.

What you conveniently leave out of that explanation is that without a shutdown we would see hundreds of thousands more dead by now and millions by the end of the year. And when there are that many more that get infected countless many more would die simply because there would not be enough ventilators or staff or even rooms to treat them. There are signs that the corvid 19 does have a lower mortality then was thought to be the case earlier. However in your rush to claim that covid was an overblown pandemic you have left out many other relevant details. Like for example covid-19 is not like the flu because of the wider array of symptoms, there is no vaccine for it yet, and most significantly, it isn't over yet!! Have a good day.

@Dean. Maybe if you learned the difference between the Aids virus and the current Coronavirus it would make sense to you. Like for example that Aids was only transmissible via blood products or sexual contact.

The US is not led by a leader who cares about the people, but only himself and his re-election. Bolsonaro is similarly self-absorbed authoritarian and consequently they also have a burgeoning case load.
